Pack 'n Play

Jack LOVES his new playpen! I was hoping he would tolerate being in it for a few minutes so that I could take a shower or make dinner, as we will soon need a safe place for him to be contained once he starts crawling. I never in my wildest dreams thought he would enjoy it so much (I know, my wildest dreams are pretty boring these days...). Things may change once he is actually mobile, but for the moment the Pack 'n Play is his new favorite hang out spot - not to mention a good place for an impromptu nap.

Happy New Year!

For New Year's, Jack partied his little butt off! We enjoyed an evening at Josh & Emily's brand new house (congrats you guys!), ate good food, drank good beer, and kept our baby up late. We expected him to go right to sleep when we got home around 9:30, but no dice, he was still rarin' to go. In fact, he didn't fall asleep until 11:30!

Aren't I Cute?

Jack typed that last bit himself - I have no idea where he found some of those symbols...

Sweet Dreams Little One

Jack sleeps on his tummy now. I put him to sleep on his back (with his head at the top of the crib) and he flips himself over and wiggles down so that his head is smooshed against the rails. Weird little baby.

Jack's 1st Present

Jack's very first Christmas present was from his Great Uncle Jack and Great Aunt Bobi - and it was a huge hit! At first when we put the package in front of him he wasn't sure what to make of it, but he soon figured out that the paper could be torn off and stuffed in his mouth. It took him about 20 minutes to get enough wrapping paper off to see that there was something inside, but once he did he couldn't wait to get at it. The toy itself is awesome! He absolutely LOVES it. The first day it kept him occupied long enough for me to do the dishes, put in a load of laundry, AND take a shower! Any toy that does that is worth its weight in gold. So, Jack says thank you for the cool toy, and so do his mom & dad!

Dinner at the Pidgeons'

Chris & Mandy had us over for turkey dinner last Sunday. The food was delicious & the company was wonderful! Gwen showed Jack all of the new toys she got for Christmas. Jack said thank you by licking her on the head (see top photo), smearing banana bread all over her high chair, and pooping at the dinner table. Hopefully Gwen will reciprocate when they come over to our house for dinner this week!
